I did AmeriCorps for 2 years and it taught me so much about the capacity of the human spirit. If we all shared something of our time and talent, this world (starting with ourselves), would be a much better place. This page will serve as a one thread discussion board with the intention of promoting community and giving. Be on the lookout for organizations and events I know are doing good first hand.

First off, I don’t typically like to toot the horn of my employer, but this year we have a $20K challenge grant and it’s to compliment designed for increased gifts or new donors. To find our more about the value of Literacy Council’s day to day service, visit their blog.

Hi there!! I’m a senior at George Mason High and I’ve been trying my hardest to donate as much as I can to places and organizations in need. I’m sure you’ve heard that in a few weeks there will be a worldwide vegan bake sale going on. I’m hosting a completely vegan bake sale at the Giant Foods in Falls Church on Friday April 22nd! Half of the proceeds will be going to the Humane Foundation International to help the animal efforts in Japan and the remaining half will go to Peace Winds America to directly aid the people in Japan. Anything you could do would help me tremendously; if you could let me know if you’d like to support the cause I’d be so grateful!
